Power interruptions will be experienced around the country due to lack of sufficient diesel stocks from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to the Kelanitissa Power Station, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Additional General Manager and media spokesman Andrew Navamani said.
He said the CEB still has 300 MW of power on the national grid following the repair of one of the third 300 MW coal power plants at Norochcholai.
If the CPC does not provide the required diesel stocks in due time, we will be unable to provide a continous power supply. Therefore, several unannounced power cuts would be experienced around the country, Mr. Navamani said.
