The discussion on the electricity tariff hike between the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) ended without agreement, the National Council said yesterday.
The Speaker of the Council said a decision is expected today (15), as mentioned in the previous agreement.
The officials representing the PUCSL and the CEB informed that they had met and taken the matter into discussion on Monday afternoon. The officers informed the National Council that they could not reach a final decision regarding the matter.
The National Council meeting was held yesterday (14) under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
