The body of an individual who had been hacked to death was recovered on Thursday night (08) from Kiralawa forest reserve in Pubbogama by Galkiriyagama police.
The victim Sajeewa Rusan Kumara (42) was a resident of Makulugaswewa in Devahoowa and father of two children.
During investigations that he had gone to Pubbogama on motorcycle with one of his friends and entered the forest reserve with another individual leaving the friend by the roadside. When he was getting late to return, his friend with several others had searched for him in the jungle to find his body.
Galkiriygama police are conducting further investigations to identify the individual with whom the victim entered the forest reserve.
