The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved the request made by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to have rotational power shedding for over five hours today.
The permission was granted due to lack of fuel supply for power generation.
The PUCSL granted permission for a four hour and 40 minute-power cut (2 hours and 40 minutes from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm and 2 hours during 4.30 pm to 10.30 pm) for today for areas of A, B, C and 5 hours and 15 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes during 8.30 am to 4.45pm and 2 hours during 4.45 pm to 9.45 pm) for areas P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W.
