The issue of forged antigen test reports for Rs.2,000 by a racketeer has been busted by the Chief Medical Officer of Health of the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council.

CMOH Dr. Manoj Rodrigo said the racketeer had used his seal and forged his signature on antigen reports indicating positive. He said when an employee of the Lanka MILCO  Foods Ltd forwarded a report that her parents were antigen positive the company referred it to him for confirmation.

He said he examined the certificate to find that his signature and his official seal had been forged. Dr. Rodrigo said further investigations revealed that a forged antigen report had been issued to several others for Rs.2,000.
However he said it was still to be established whether the individual concerned had issued forged antigen certificate to earn money or to indicate that the rate of COVID-19 infected in the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte was increasing. He said he informed the relevant authorities to take legal action in this regard.

He requested the public not to fall prey to the racketeers issuing forged certificates in this manner and to have antigen or PCR tests performed by a qualified doctor.
