Member of Parliament A. H. M. Fowzie has been suspended from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) , party General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara announced yesterday.
Madumma Bandara said action will be taken against others who defect from the party.
“We have discussed this matter in the working committee twice as we will take action against defectors.
Asked about MP Vadivel Suresh, the General Secretary said he had vowed not to Leave the SJB.
“MP Suresh had informed us that he will remain with SJB though he will be working with Minister Harin Fernando. Minister Fernando said MP Suresh will become a Minister soon. However his earlier predictions went wrong,” he said.
Responding to recent positive comments made by MP Sarath Fonseka , the SJB General Secretary said Field Marshal Fonseka had made this comments merely to find a way to attend the victory day on May 18.
Field Marshal Fonseka earlier said he will participate in the victory day celebrations this year. He said he does not have any issue with saluting President Ranil Wickremesinghe as he is not a thief.
