Fuel consumption has increased by 50 per cent during the long weekend due to Vesak, the Fuel Dealers Association said yesterday.
According to the Association, consumption was at its highest during this past holiday period since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The last reported high consumption was during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season. High demand has not been an issue, according to the Association, as sufficient stocks were available at filling stations during the long weekend.
