The government did not fund former President’s travel expenses  to Thailand, a special statement from the Department of Information said  last night.   The Department said that the former president had spent his own private funds on his foreign visit.    

This statement came after Cabinet Spokesman Minister  Bandula Gunawardana earlier said the Government has funded the travel  expenses.Former President did not use state funds for any  expenses he make abroad, the Department said,.
