Government has to be changed through a national election and not through changing heads in Parliament, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa said over the weekend.
“ The present government should be changed through a national election and not through changing heads in Parliament through political deals,” Premadasa said during a public gathering in Badulla on Saturday.
“ It is time we chased this government away and we are going to take the first step towards it on March 15 in Colombo. I invite everyone to join us,” he added.
Premadasa pledged to distribute land to estate workers and to convert them into tea small holders. “ It was my father the late President Ranasinghe Premadasa who gave Sri Lankan citizenship to Estate workers with Indian origin. I pledge to turn them into tea small holders and to give them a house of their own” he said.
