Govt. presents Appropriation Bill 2023

Government yesterday presented the appropriation Bill 2023 under which more funds have been allocated to economic stabilization and defence, while amounts allocated for education and health has been reduced for next year compared to this year.   

The amount allocated for Ministry of Finance , Economic Stabilization and National Policies have been increased to Rs 613,937,040,000 for 2023 compared to  467,208,833,000 in 2022 while the amount allocated for defence has been increased to Rs 410,000,000, 000 compared to Rs. 377 billion in 2022.   The amount allocated for health has been reduced to Rs 321.9 billion for 2023 compared to Rs 348.5 billion in 2022 while the amount allocated for Ministry of Trade and Food Security has been reduced to Rs 6.076 billion from Rs 9.3 billion in 2022.   Funds allocated for expenditure in connection with the President for 2023 will be Rs 3.7 billion and for the Prime Minister 


Rs 1.01 billion.   Total government expenditure is estimated to be rupees three thousand six hundred and fifty seven billion thirty eight thousand as per the appropriation Bill.
