The National Fuel Pass portal was officially launched yesterday by the Power and Energy Ministry for easy and efficient fuel distribution.

The first time user should visit the fuel quota management portal available on the http://fuelpass.gov.lk

Register on the website using the National Identity Card (NIC) number, passport number or the business registration number followed by the mobile number. Once the registration is complete, an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number for verification purposes. Later the first name, last name and the address of the person who makes the registration should be entered.

Then the vehicle details such as vehicle number, type, chassis number and the vehicle type should be on the next page. After completing the page, a QR code will appear on the screen.

After the completion of registration, you will be entitled for a fuel quota, balance remaining and date of expiry.
The QR code displayed on the screen is downloadable and  uniquely assigned to your vehicle. You can present the QR code to the filling station when availing the service.

If you are a smartphone user, take a screen shot and present it to the filling station attendant. If not, you can take a print copy and present it.

It is important to check the available fuel quota balance by typing ‘FUEL BAL (VEHICLE NO) and sending it to 0766220000.
