The Colombo High Court has yesterday decided to commence the trial proceeding on the case filed against former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and former Director-General of the Divineguma Development Department Kithsiri Ranawaka on September 27.
When the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte the Judge ordered the aggrieved party to submit the relevant documents to conduct the trial proceeding and to observe the above order the case will be taken up on July 19.
They have been accused of using Rs.365,000 from the Divineguma Development Department for the distribution of GI pipes among beneficiaries during the 2015 Presidential Elections.
