The Trincomalee bound train proceeded after the substitute guard arrived

The Head Guard in the Trincomalee bound express train from Colombo had fallen off the train at Bulugahagoda area and the train had proceeded to Gampaha railway station without the Head Guard.
When the driver did not receive the Head Guard’s signal to leave, he had looked in the guard van to find him missing. Later they received information that the Head Guard had fallen off the moving train at Bulugahagoda area and was admitted to hospital. Spokesman for the railway control room said that another guard was sent to Gampaha railway station by the Kandy bound Intercity Express. The Trincomalee bound train proceeded after the substitute guard arrived. However, the train was subject to a delay of about 2 hours.
