The Health authorities urged people who are infected by the Corona virus not to get COVID-19 vaccine before they recover. Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath told a news conference that some people try to receive vaccines when they were still infected .
“It is of no use if one gets vaccinated when he or she remains infected.Therefore, it is recommended to get vaccinated two weeks after recovery,” he added.
Meanwhile, he said Sri Lanka was not out of the woods as yet though restrictions were lifted.
“The country cannot afford to return to curfews and restrictions for months on end. We have to move on,” he said.
“Therefore, we urge people to strictly follow health guidelines and practices in order to prevent another wave in the country,” Dr. Herath added.
