Hearing impaired to get driving licence after March: MT Comm. Gen.

The programme to issue driving licences to the hearing impaired will commence islandwide after March this year, Motor Traffic Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe said.

He told a news conference that the pilot programme to issue light vehicle driving licences for the hearing impaired was launched in the Gampaha District in November last year.
He said temporary driving licences for practical training (Learner Permit) were issued to 75 people under the pilot project.


The Commissioner General said the programme is set to be launched islandwide after March this year.
