Chief Government Whip Prasanna Ranatunga said he does not intend to leave SLPP and join UNP though he supports President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the moment.
“My decision to support President Wickremesinghe is not a departure from SLPP. I do not intend to get on top of the elephant’s back though I have decided to support the President,” he said making a special statement.
Minister Ranatunga also participated in an SLPP rally in Puttalam participated by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
