Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said he sees a person who can give leadership to the country when he stands in front of the mirror.

He made these comments in response to questions on who can give leadership to the country, adding that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is not a capable leader.  

“Today, the rulers of the country as well as many people have forgotten the war heroes. Now some people don’t even know if there was a war in this country. Overall, no government, including the current government, has looked into the welfare of war heroes,” he said.  

Many people have asked me if I will run for Presidency it is easy to ask but difficult to answer.

I can salute President Ranil Wickremesinghe because the current president is not as corrupt as the Rajapaksa’s, but I will not support him in any way in the upcoming presidential election, he said.
