Former President Maithripala Sirisena said that he was unaware of the controversial Yugadanavi Power plant agreement until MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake had revealed it in Parliament.
"During my tenure, there were no such agreements," he told the media after a meeting with Sri Lanka Freedom Party members in Kandy.
He also said that he had alerted the government several times about the public grievances. " I informed the government Not only once but hundreds of times and even did so in writing, highlighting the difficulties that people were facing," the former President said. He said still there are no answers for the people's grievances.
