The International Monetary Fund (IMF) yesterday said it is working with the Sri Lankan authorities to introduce a strong anti-corruption legal framework in Sri Lanka. The IMF said the programme supported by the agency aims to reduce corruption vulnerabilities in Sri Lanka by improving fiscal transparency and public financial management.

Also, a governance assessment diagnostic supported by the IMF will be carried for an in-depth analysis of governance and corruption vulnerabilities in Sri Lanka.“This assessment will be supported by IMF technical assistance. We will provide prioritised and sequenced recommendations,” Nozaki said.
