In a recent operation targeting an illicit brewery in Dharmapuram, Kilinochchi, a police constable found himself in harm’s way when he sustained severe injuries from a trap gun set by a poacher. The injured constable was promptly rushed to the Dharmapuram Hospital and later transferred to Kilinochchi General Hospital for further medical attention.
Sources from the hospital revealed that the police constable suffered injuries to one of his knees during the incident, shedding light on the perilous nature of the operation. The trap gun, strategically placed near the illicit brewery, discharged during the raid, causing the injuries.
Law enforcement officials from Kilinochchi are actively engaged in ongoing investigations to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for laying the trap gun. The incident underscores the challenges faced by police in their efforts to combat illegal activities, with the dangers posed by trap guns adding an additional layer of complexity to their operations.
