The Ministry of Education has decided to make some changes in the preparation of Scholarship, G. C. E. O/L and A/L examination papers.
Education Ministry Additional Secretary (School Affairs) L. M. D. Dharmasena said the decision has been made taking into consideration the disruption caused to academic activities in schools due to the pandemic situation.
“The National Institute of Education will issue a circular in this regard in the future applicable for the scholarship examination,” he underlined.
“It will be stipulated through the circular which subject matters are to be assessed when preparing the exam paper,” Dharmasena explained.
Moreover, he said the final decision pertaining to the O/L and A/L exams is yet to be taken and it is almost in the final stage of discussion,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Additional Secretary said the Education Ministry has not made any decision to shut schools, as they could not afford to do so. “Unless there is an unavoidable circumstance, we are not going to close any school in order to facilitate the children to prepare and sit for the exams,” he added.
