JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake came under fire in Parliament yesterday for what is termed ‘instigation of violent protests.
Dissanayake was seeing chatting to protesters on his way from Parliament on Tuesday and echoing their sentiments.
Referring to it, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando said it was unbecoming of the JVP leader to provoke protesters to unleash violence and vandalism against anyone. He said the JVP leaders instigated a similar murderous culture during the 88/89 period. “Today, you are in hiding because you lost face over your chat with protesters,” he said.
