KOFIH unveils its office in Sri Lanka

In a bid to further develop new grant projects to promote Sri Lankan people’s health, Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) opened its office in Sri Lanka in the Ministry of Health building recently.   


KOFIH is a governmental organization affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Republic of Korea, for contributing to promoting international collaboration and fulfilling humanitarianism in the field of healthcare assistance for developing countries, North Korea, overseas Koreans, and migrant workers residing in Korea.  KOFIH has been supporting the Sri Lankan Health system since 2004 for aid to damage from the Tsunami. KOFIH supported establishment and management of the Preliminary Care Unit (PCU) in Avissawella which was installed in 2009 and Tangalle in 2012.   


KOFIH, as an “institution specializing in development assistance for global healthcare improvements” is seeking to play a larger role in saving precious lives and improving their health without discrimination against race, gender, country, and religion.   


From 2019, KOFIH has been implementing a project for Capacity Building of Bio-medical Engineering Service in Sri Lanka with cooperation of the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka.
