A 38-year-old suspect, Saman Kumara Mendis alias ‘Kalupe Duminda’, who has been involved in three murders was arrested by the police Special Task Force (STF) in Gonapinuwala, Baddegama.
The STF said the suspect was arrested following a tip-off and the officers also recovered a locally made 12-bore firearm and 02 12-bore cartridges from the suspect’s house.
Investigations revealed that the suspect is wanted over an attack on a tourist restaurant in Narigama, Hikkaduwa last year and three murders in Meetiyagoda, Hikkaduwa in 2018. The suspect was handed over to the Gonapinuwala Police for further investigations.
