Kottu maker reveals shocking truth about nine-year-old girl’s murder

A Kottu roti maker had revealed the truth in the murder of nine-year-old girl in Atulugama, Bandaragama.  
The Kottu roti maker was arrested as the main suspect in the murder of nine-year-old Fathima Ayesha of Atulugama, Bandaragama, the Panadura Divisional Crime Investigation Unit said.   

The 28-year-old main suspect was a resident of the Atulugama Muslim Colony in Bandaragama.  
The suspect had been addicted to crystal methamphetamine (ice). The victim had gone to a meat stall to buy chicken before she had gone missing.  


Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had left the shop before the girl and was hiding behind a bush, police said.  


When the victim was walking towards her home with the meat in hand, the suspect had caught her and dragged her into a nearby shrub jungle.  


 As per the police, the victim in an attempt to escape from the clutches of the suspect had raised cries for help.  
Police said a piece of cloth had been stuffed into the little girl’s mouth before she had been dragged a few metres further into a nearby swamp. The suspect had pushed the face of the child into the muddy water to ensure that she was dead, he had knelt on the childs back.
