Lanka Indian Oil Private Bowser Owners’ Association (LIOPBOA) has refrained from fuel transportation services from midnight Saturday.
The Association’s Chairman Kusum Sandanayake said since Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) bowser owner’s association had solicited their support for their trade union action. We have decided offer our support to them and will refrain from handling fuel transportation, Sandanayake said.
He said a letter indicating their stance was sent to the Lanka IOC Managing Director subsequent to the meeting held between CPC bowser owner’s association and power and energy minister Kanchana Wijesekara on April 30.
They said the decision was taken since CPC bowser owners did not receive a positive response to the revision of fuel transport charges.
