Leaders representing political parties in Parliament yesterday decided to take up the debate on the proclamation of emergency issued on essential goods on September 6, Serjeant-at-Arms- Narendra Fernando said yesterday.
Mr. Fernando told Daily Mirror that party leaders decided to convene Parliament sessions for two days during the next week because of the pandemic situation.
The House was also expected to take up debates on several regulations imposed under Financial Bills during the next week.
This is the second time in succession where Parliament sessions have been reduced as a result of the pandemic.
Also, it was reported that Antijan tests will be carried out on all MPs and Parliament staff on September 2, 2021.
