Residents of Agarapathana area in Thalawakele are living in constant fear of any possible danger from leopards that roam into their villages and enter their homes.
People living in Agarapathana New Colony said the hill country tigers often attempted to enter the houses to prey on dogs. They said the leopards were frequenting home gardens waiting for a chance to enter houses and quite often attempted to force open their doors.
The owner of a house pointed out the CCTV recording of how a leopard attempted to open the rear door of his house. Residents of the area have complained to police and the wildlife conservators on the impending danger and requested for protection.
