President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has assured US President Joe Biden that he was looking forward with optimism to continuing and expanding the long-standing partnership of friendship and cooperation with the United States.
“In recent times, we particularly note with sincere appreciation the generosity of the United States, under your stewardship, in offering millions of doses of surplus vaccines to countries across the world, including Sri Lanka, to combat the global COVID-19 Pandemic,” the President said this in a message to the US President in view of the Independence day of the United States. “I am confident that our multifaceted relations will continue to grow in scope, character and value for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples. As the Government of Sri Lanka forges ahead to usher in a bright and prosperous future for our people, I look forward with optimism to continuing and expanding our longstanding partnership of friendship and cooperation with the United States,” the President added.
