Mahabodhi Centre reopened in Chennai

The Mahabodhi Centre in Chennai was reopened ceremoniously with the participation of distinguished guests.  On the invitation of Ven. Nugagolle Chandraratne Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Chennai Mahabodhi Centre, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Southern India Dr. D. Venkateshwaran, the former Minister and the Chairman of Sri Lanka National Sports Council Arjuna Ranatunga, participated the reopening of Mahabodhi Centre.  

The Mahabodhi Centre, the old Sanghavasa and the Buddha Mandiraya, which was closed for nearly three years due to Covid-19, has now reopened for the convenience and services of the Sri Lankan pilgrims.


The Venerable Mahasangha from Sanchi, Lumbini as well as from Southern India, Buddhist devotees and the Sri Lankan community around Chennai were also present.
