Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said those who masterminded the Easter Sunday mayhem will face a similar fate like that of the victims of the series of blasts.
Speaking during a prayer service held at the Archbishop’s House Chapel to commemorate the Easter Sunday victims over the weekend Cardinal Ranjith said those who commit crimes will be punished as it has been in the past.
“We have seen in the past how certain politicians of our country met with violent deaths similar to the acts of violence, which they were involved in, which killed many others. The same fate awaits those who are behind the Easter Sunday attack,” he said. “God will reveal who was behind the Easter Sunday attacks before long. We have asked him to do it and we should cooperate with him. God cannot reveal the masterminds behind the Easter Sunday mayhem if we do not cooperate with him. We will not allow the secrets behind the Easter Sunday attacks to be swept under the carpet,” he said.
Cardinal Ranjith added that there are certain things, which were happening with regard to the investigations into the Easter Sunday mayhem, which the public cannot see,” he further said.
