A three-day protest march organized by the National People’s Power (NPP) against the government set off from Beruwala yesterday morning.

The protest march was set to reach Colombo next Tuesday (19), NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
He told media while taking part in the protest march that they organized the protest march to force the suppressive government to go home allowing a people friendly government to take over the country.   Dissanayake said even though the reserves of the country had dwindled, the rulers had amassed massive wealth and added that they were hidden in various places in Sri Lanka and other countries in the world. “The rulers have hidden their looted money in various parts of the country and in other countries including Dubai, Seychelles and Uganda. The two groups that ruled the country so far had looted public money and helped each other to get away easily. People should struggle to recover the stolen money. It can be done only by a group that has never involved in fraud and corruption,” he said.

The protest march was scheduled for three days where it was to reach Wadduwa from Beruwala yesterday and it will kick off from Wadduwa and will reach Moratuwa today. It will reach Town Hall from Moratuwa on Tuesday (19).
