SLPP Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa pledged to conduct a fresh probe on Easter Sunday attacks if elected to power next month.
Rajapaksa made this pledge when he met the Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith and auxiliary bishops on Monday evening.
Cardinal Ranjith has reminded the MP about the need for conducting a proper probe on the Easter Sunday attacks.
The Cardinal requested an independent commission to probe the attacks. The MP pledged to look into the matter.
Rajapaksa also pledged to fulfill his duty of uplifting the nation as a youthful leader. Auxiliary bishops of Colombo Anton Ranjith, Maxwell Silva and J. D. Anthony Jayakody participated in the meeting.
Menwhile Namal Rajapaksa is to address the inaugural rally in Anuradhapura today.
