Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday announced that no power cuts will be experienced, as the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant (NCPP) is fully functional now.
Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) General Manager M.R. Ranatunge told Daily Mirror that the power plant is supplying 300 MW of power and operates at full capacity.
Therefore, there is no need to have any power cuts other than when there are sudden breakdowns, he said.
The nationwide scheduled power cuts were experienced in several areas between 6.00 pm and 9.30 p.m.
