An individual of Gammeddegoda in the Ratgama police area had been shot dead last afternoon. Two others had been seriously injured in the shooting and admitted to the Karapitiya teaching hospital in Galle.
The deceased T.Nandalal (45) was a retired soldier. Investigations revealed that he had been at home with two relatives when two unidentified gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle had shot him with a T 56 rifle. His relatives, one from Devinigoda in Ratgama and the other from Ranapanadeniya in Ratgama had also received gunshot injuries.
Ratgama police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of SSP Galle Division Sudath Masinghe.
