Wildlife officers who informed the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa about the devastation of 12,000 acres inside the Yala National Park have been given immediate transfer orders, the Opposition Leader’s office alleged in a statement yesterday. The statement said these officers had informed Premadasa about their fate. “Some of them have also received threats,” the statement said.

Premadasa on Wednesday said the government was planning to devour 12, 000 acres from the Yala National Park for purposes which were unknown.
