The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) seized 540 filled and 54 empty cylinders of cooking gas from the possession of a person during a raid in Anuradhapura.
The CAA said legal action would be taken against the suspect.
There is a severe shortage of cooking gas in the market these days.
