The government has held back only a few information and recommendations of the Presidential Commission Report on the Easter Sunday massacre, which has a direct bearing on the national security, Cabinet spokesman Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said.

Responding to a journalist, he told media that the report of the Presidential Commission has been handed to the Attorney General for necessary action.
“We have nothing to hide. The information that has been held back has a direct influence on the national security. They cannot be disclosed,” he stressed.

Minister Dr. Pathirana said the Police inquiries were continuing vigorously to apprehend the culprits involved in the attack on the residence of TV journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama and on the vehicle of JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.  “We unreservedly condemned both attacks. I am confident that the Police will make a breakthrough before long and bring the criminals involved in these attacks before the law. A few individuals who threw eggs at the JVP leader’s vehicle have already been arrested and produced before courts,” Minister Pathirana said.

Over 60 policemen in 9 committees are analysing CCTV footages together with the Moratuwa University to identify the culprits of the attack on Chamuditha’s residence.
