The Pettah Floating Market reopened on Wednesday (08) after renovations under the ongoing development programme for Pettah. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had established it on August 25, 2014 when he was Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development.
Minister of Transport Gamini Lokuge, State Minister of Urban Development Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Secretary to the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Sirinimala Perera, Director General of the Urban Development Authority Prasad Ranaweera, Parliamentarians Premanath C. Dolawatta, Jagath Kumara, Mayor of Colombo Rosy Senanayake, Municipal Commissioner Roshini Dissanayake and several senior officials were present at
the occasion.
