Alleged underworld figure Janith Madushanka alias ‘Podi Lassi’ was yesterday ordered to be further remanded till January 18 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Podi Lassie was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika C. Ragala by the Criminal Investigations Department for alleged involvement in drug trafficking and offences relating to firearms.
The CID told Court that they were yet to conclude investigations against the suspect and thereby moved Court to further remand him.
Podi Lassie was detained at Boossa Prison and produced before Court after the expiration of his detention order.
Podi Lassi had been named as a suspect in a case filed against him over the death threats made in public at the Boossa Prison against the President, the Defence Secretary and certain high-ranking officers of the Prisons Department.
