A Police Constable of the Hungama police and his lover who were involved in making packets of heroin had been arrested by the Tangalle Division Crime Investigating Unit during a raid carried out on a lodge in the area, the police said.

They had in their possession 28.580grams of heroin at the time of arrest.

Investigations revealed that the 41-year-old suspect woman was a resident of Thalalla in Tangalle.
She had been carrying on the racket for a long time. The constable had joined her in the racket at her instigation.
The suspects were to be produced before the Angunakolapelessa magistrate yesterday.

OIC- Crime Investigation Unit of the Tangalle Division IP Nandasiri Gamage is conducting further 
investigations.
