The Mirihana Special Crimes Investigation Unit has launched an investigation to arrest a couple, who are owners of a contract company named “D’ marc solution (PVT) LTD,” in connection with a fraudulent transaction amounting to over Rs. 9.9 million.
Police said the suspects received Rs. 99,43,108.03 from a private company for the renovation of a building and garden in the Battaramulla area, which belonged to the said private company. However, the suspects failed to complete the renovation as promised.
The investigation has unveiled that the suspects have operated under the company name “D’ marc solution (PVT) LTD” at the address 31/7, Pepiliyana Road, Nedimala, Dehiwala, and have presented themselves as the company’s owners.
The police have released a photograph of the couple, identified as 31-year-old Wigneshwaran Ganeshan, residing at No 39, Cardinal Coorey Mawatha, Hendala in Wattala, and the female suspect, a 36-year-old Niroshani Rajaratnam, residing at No 04/4, Hiribura Cross Road, Dangedara, Galle.
