Police seek public support to locate local ’Bob Marley’

The police has sought public assistance to locate the main suspect, who was involved in smuggling drugs into the country on a multi-day trawler.


Five men were arrested by the officers of the State Intelligence service and Sri Lanka Navy for attempting to smuggle 288.664 kg of heroin into the country on August 31.

However, the main suspect who is behind the drug ring is evading arrest by police. Two photos of the suspect have been published for easy identification.


Therefore, the police have sought the public's assistance to locate the suspect and contact the Additional Director of Police Narcotic Division at 071 8592727 or 011 2343333-4 to pass the  details about the culprits.


The details of the suspect are as follows:


Suspect name: Kaludura Chaminda Thabrevi, alias Bob Marley
Address: No. 128/09, Nisansala Mawatha, Thalahena, Malambe.
No. 522/1/2, Salmal Mawatha, Udumulla, Battaramulla.
Age: 41.
