Pope Francis yesterday called for the uncovering of truth behind the Easter Sunday attacks.
“Please, out of love for justice, out of love for your people, let it be made clear once and for all who were responsible for these events.,” the Pope said speaking to Easter Sunday victims, Sri Lankan bishops led by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith and around 3000 Sri Lankan expatriates living in Italy.
,”Peace be with you”. In the face of the horror and absurdity of certain acts, which seem impossible to be committed by people, it is evident that this is the work of the Evil One.” he added.
Meanwhile President Sri Lankan Catholic Bishops Conference Bishop of Badulla Winston Fernando said it is possible for the perpetrators of the Easter Sunday bombings to obtain forgiveness if they honestly confess their crimes and repent. “ I request the people and the rulers to confess their crimes and repent,” he said.
“ It is not correct to look at law books and the constitution when finding out the truth about Easter Sunday attacks,” he added.
