Power plants in Sri Lanka have run out of fuel and only coal is now available, leading to a possibility of power cut durations increasing further, the Daily Mirror learns.

According to internal sources, Norochocholai Power Plant can provide electricity for only another 8 to 10 hours while some plants would only function on the coal available. Other than that there is no other word as to how the power plants will continue to function. At this rate, the existing power cut timings will rise further.
