Bus transportation will have to be limited given the situation in the country but it will not come to a standstill, Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama told Parliament yesterday, responding to a question raised by MP Hesha Withanage.
The Minister assured that there is no move to stop transportation during the opening and closing times of schools and offices.
He also said a decision has been made to share fuel with private buses provided CTB depots have excess fuel. Withanage said a situation has arisen where even opposition MPs are being hooted at by people at fuel queues. “It has become difficult for MPs to obtain fuel for their vehicles. Even we are facing danger given the present situation,” he said.
