Changing its initial decision to attend the meeting scheduled for today (9) with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has decided not to attend the meeting, the JVP Leader said last evening.
Earlier yesterday, JVP politburo member Sunil Hadunnetti said his party will participate at a discussion with the President to discuss forming an all-party government.
However, hours after its decision, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the party would not attend the President’s meeting instead it will submit written proposals to the President.
Earlier yesterday addressing a media conference, Hadunnetti said they would clarify to the President the stance of the JVP on forming an all-party government and added that they would, however, not join the all-party government. “We have already disclosed our stance to the country on an all-party government.
Hadunnetti said the JVP would not join the all-party government but they would participate at the discussion with the President to convey their stance.
