President Gotabaya Rajapaksa asked the parliamentary group of the government to vote against the no-confidence motion to be moved by the main opposition against Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila, Daily Mirror learns.
The president gave this instruction at the parliamentary group meeting chaired by him along with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday evening.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will move this motion against the Minister this week after a debate over the increase of fuel prices.
The president’s instruction came despite two government members including Transport Minister Gamini Lokuge criticising Mr. Gammanpila over the fuel price hike.
