Her Royal Highness Princess Anne and her husband Prince Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence yesterday visited Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and paid homage to the sacred tooth relic. They were received on arrival by Actg. Diyawadana Nilame of Sri Dalada Maligawa Mahinda Dela.
Ven. Thibotuwawe Medhankara Thera, in charge of the rites in Dalada Maligawa was present at the occasion.
Later, the Royal delegation visited the North. They were flown to Jaffna Navatthurai Public Playground by Air Force helicopter and received on arrival by Northern Province Governor P.S.M. Charles. They visited the Jaffna Public Library and several places of importance in Jaffna after a brief conversation with the governor.
