Probe launched as American national found dead in Tangalle

The police have launched an investigation into the death of an American man who was living alone in a two-storey house in Seenimodera, Tangalle.   

The body of the 54-year-old American national was found in the backyard of the house. Investigations revealed the deceased Timothy Roger, had been residing in  Sri Lanka since 2008. 

 
Police said a woman who had brought food to the deceased had seen the body and informed them. According to police there were a number of suspicious signs of burns on the victim’s body.   

Tangalle Police had also found several used liquor bottles in the house and several burnt pieces of cloth as well.   
The victim was reportedly identified by his mother who is also residing in Dickwella. She had informed the police that the deceased was the youngest in the family.
